I think they should too. I'm usually against picking up superstars but I'm sort of looking at this year and next as the end of the road for this version of the Predators.

The only current players we have signed past next season are Erat, Legwand, Dumont, Suter and Klein. Arnott and Sullivan will likely be gone and there's no telling if we'll be able to match for Weber. It's a possibility we could lose both our goalies this off season. So the way I see it, we have this year and next to make a legit push and after that we'll likely see a very young team that probably won't be a playoff contender for a while.

So if there was ever a time to roll the dice and go for it, even if he is only a rental, I think this is it. Honestly, I don't think it's crazy to say this team could be a legit Cup contender with Kovy. We've seen them play GREAT this year at times. They're down a bit now but I think adding his talent, plus the message that Poile would be sending by going out and getting him, could really light a fire in these guys.

I've often described this team as a bunch of Robins with no Batman. Kovalchuk could be our Batman. Light the signal Poile!
